SRAM Maven - The most powerful brakes got update

24.02.2026

Maven is the most powerful brake we’ve ever made. With usable power for efficiency and tunability, and extreme power for higher speeds with more control, Maven helps riders find progression and confidence in the most demanding terrain.

Since its debut two years ago, it has redefined the power requirements of modern mountain bike brakes. The versatility of this power has been proven across disciplines, from the most extreme DH and E-MTB’s, through to Enduro and Trail bikes with appropriate rotor and pad tuning. Over this period, extensive feedback from World Cup racers, everyday riders, and our bike brand partners has helped contribute to the next evolution of Maven. The result is a brake that delivers more confidence to more riders, while fully preserving the benchmark power that made Maven the standard.

Same power, refined power delivery

Maven is now equipped with a re-designed SwingLink leverage-rate curve tuned for smoother power delivery and enhanced modulation. The higher initial leverage ratio aligns lever-pull force with Maven Base, creating a more intuitive feel. Together, these updates deliver the same class-leading braking power while providing finer control through the first 25% of lever stroke. The result is greater precision and confidence in rough or low-traction terrain, exactly where too much power too quickly can compromise control.

SwingLink

A custom-shaped “cam” that creates an intentional, progressive lever action, building power as you pull. We tailor progressive leverage across all brake models to maximize power in every application. Compared to what’s called a “binary” or “on/off” feel, a progressive lever feel offers superior traction fidelity, gives you more control, and also helps minimize hand fatigue.

Finish refinements

SwingLink isn’t the only refinement; Ultimate, Silver, and Bronze brakes all receive fresh lever blades and updated finishes. Maven Ultimate gets a touch more Ultimate with the introduction of carbon lever blades, offering a familiar tactile signature with improved cold-weather performance. Maven Silver gets a stiff, all-new forged aluminum blade with a precision-machined weight-saving cutout. Silver is also complemented by black-on-black hardware for a fully stealth aesthetic. Maven Bronze shares the same forged blade architecture as the other models but lacks machined weight savings and features a black anodized finish to pair cleanly with any build.

MavenLeverTuning Kit

It isn’t only the new-generation Maven that benefits from the updated B1 SwingLink architecture and revised lever-blade materials. The gold B1 SwingLink is fully backward-compatible, enabling riders to tune Maven Ultimate, Silver, and Bronze A1 brakes with smoother power delivery, enhanced modulation, and preferred lever-blade material.

Maven Ultimate and Maven Silver lever kits are cross-compatible, while the bushing-based Maven Bronze features a standalone tuning kit. The DIY-friendly install takes roughly 10 minutes and is on the dry side of the brakes, meaning no bleed is required. Maven Ultimate and Silver tuning kits include a T10 Torx screwdriver for out-of-the-box installation.

Adjusted Ratio

All Maven (B1) calipers now feature four 18mm pistons, a configuration selected to optimize the hydraulic ratio when paired with the updated SwingLink architecture. Maven B1 Tuning kits are fully compatible with Maven A1 calipers that use the 19.5/18 mm piston layout. When installed on A1 systems, riders can expect a marginal increase in deadband—due to the slightly larger piston volume—and a subtle boost in peak power stemming from the higher mechanical advantage at full stroke.

Maven Ultimate

Maven is the benchmark of power for modern riders, providing them with the boundless power of confidence and commitment. With extreme power for elevated speed and control on ever-more demanding terrain, Maven gives riders the power to push boundaries everywhere they ride. Maximum control begins at the lever, where Maven Ultimate features a SwingLink architecture tuned for smooth power delivery, enhancing modulation and reducing hand fatigue. The stiff 4-bolt caliper dissipates incredible heat, keeping power consistent so the last corner feels like the first. And with so much baseline power on hand, there is more range than ever before to tune the ride qualities exactly how you want with different pad materials and rotor sizes. Maven Ultimate features a sleek carbon lever blade and a caliper with machined edges and titanium hardware for a finish worthy of any modern super bike. And for unrivaled ease of customization, features include ool-free Reach and Contact Point Adjust. Maven is the expert, but Maven Ultimate is the pinnacle.
